Campden Tablets are used as a preservative when making wine and cider. They rid the brew of natural airborne yeasts before you add cultured yeast which aids consistency, flavour and stability.

You can add 1 crushed campden tablet for every gallon of wine or cider after it has fermented to keep it free from bacteria and oxidization during the bottling and syphoning process.

These homebrew campden tablets are recommended for first time wine and cider makers as they ensure a good finished result.

They can also be used as a steriliser before you start the brew. You can use 5 crushed tablets for each pint of hot water.
