CO2 & Gas

CO2 - Carbon Dioxide is commonly used in homebrew.  It is given off by the yeast during fermentation.  Carbon dioxide helps protect your fermentation from infection, oxidisation and gives your beer, lager, cider and champagne it's fizz.

When barrelling or kegging, you may want to use carbon dioxide to carbonate your beer or just to pressurise the keg / barrel so that the beer, cider or lager is forced out.

We have single use CO2 cartridges and refillable CO2 gas cylinders. 

Depending on what type of keg, barrel you have, there are different valves for connecting different CO2 bottles.  See our Barrel and Keg Spare Parts section for different valves to fit your kegs cap or connector so you can inject gas into your keg / barrel to keep it up to pressure.
