How To Improve a 7 Day Wine Kit

If you like the 7 days wine kits but want them to have a little more flavour, body and zing, then simply add some extra wine enhancer... Read our Blog...

We sell a lot of the 7 day wine kits and a lot of people love them just the way they are, but some people find them a little on the thin side.

We get customers asking how to make a cheap 7 day wine kit taste better, so we found a really simple way to add extra body, flavour and a bit more alcohol too.

Simply add a bottle of wine enhancer.  Obviously, use red for a red wine and white for a white.  And 25% red and 75% white for a rose.

If you are making a 30 bottle kit like the Cellar 7 or the SG Platinum, then add between 500ml and 1 Litre.  We like to add 1 litre to reds and 1 litre to whites.

If you are making the cheaper 30 bottle 7 days kits like SG Classic, SG Gold or Winebuddy, then we suggest using between 500ml to 750ml.  Again we like to use 750ml on the reds and 750ml on the whites to add that extra flavour, body and zing.  Add the same amount of sugar you normally do for these kits.

You can try the next time you make a 7 day wine kit.

But remember, as we are going off recipe, then you might find they can take a little longer than the usual 5 days for the fermentation to finish, so it is crucial you use a hydrometer to check the progress and make sure the wine has fully fermented before you move onto adding the stabiliser and finings.

You can do this to any wine kit to add a little extra pizzazz to the finished wine.

If you have some concentrate left over, put the lid on an put it in the fridge (or freezer) and it will keep till you are ready to use it on your next wine kit.

Just remember to use a hydrometer to check the SG is around 0.996 before adding the stabiliser.

The 7 days wine kits are ready to be drank as soon as they are ready to bottle, but if you can, leave them for at least 1 month in the bottle to condition. 4 months conditioning for whites would be great and 6 months to 1 year would allow the reds to really develop their full flavour.

Hope you like this simple way to improve the body, flavour, zing and ABV of a simple 7 days wine kit by just adding some extra concentrated grape juice.

I have added 1Litre wine enhancer to a on the house merlot kit to raise the ABV, but tends to have a little bit of a sweeter taste.
will try it on my next pino grigio kit from SG Platinum.
