SafLager S-23 Lager Pilsner Yeast in 11.5g Sachet is perfect for making pilsner style lagers that are fruity and hoppy.

SafLager S-23 is a German bottom fermenting commercial yeast for lager and pilsner beers production.

Use 1 sachet of Fermentis SafLager S-23 in 20-30 litres.

Ideal fermentation temperature is 12 - 15°C

Dosage rate is 8g for 10 litres, so if you are making a 23 litre batch you will need 2 packs.

Instructions for Pitching SafLager S-23 is a dried yeast and so you can just sprinkle it on the top of your wort and the yeast will make their way to the bottom.

Instructions for pitching from Fermentis:

1 - Direct pitching:

Pitch the yeast directly in the fermentation vessel on the surface of the wort at or above the fermentation temperature. Progressively sprinkle the dry yeast into the wort ensuring the yeast covers all the surface of wort available to avoid clumps. Ideally, the yeast will be added during the first part of the filling of the vessel.

2 - With prior rehydration:

Alternatively, in a sterile glass, sprinkle the yeast onto 120ml of wort at 15 to 25°C. Leave to rest 15 to 30 minutes, gently stir and pitch the resultant cream into the fermentation vessel.
